Alaska's Black Cod is world famous for its sweet and buttery flavor. For many top-class restaurants, this fish needs to be on the menu. Due to its high oil content, Black Cod is not only a major source of Omega-3 but is also hard to overcook.
Black Cod is harvested between March and December between the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, and Southeast Alaska. In its younger years, this fish likes to stay in shallower waters until it slowly continues to venture out into deeper parts of the ocean. Mature Black Cod lives in water depths between 500 and 5000ft!
